How a trekking pole tent works
Most pitches follow the same rhythm: stake the corners (and vestibule if you have one), seat pole tips in grommets or pockets with rubber caps — never raw carbide on fabric — raise the canopy, then guy the walls so fabric stays taut in wind. If a pole fails, a stout stick or a line to a branch can finish the night.
